'Chickens and Checks' is hand-painted in acrylic paint, stamped with hand-cut block cuts, and sealed with a varnish.
 
While it probably should not be scrubbed, it could hold something like bread or something non-edible like flowers. This basket was thrifted and is a rustic gold color with wood handles. It is loved (and cleaned) but has a lot of character.
